BASIC GARDEN LANDSCAPE DESIGN
ANALYSIS
BASIC GARDEN LANDSCAPE DESIGN ANALYSIS, that
this success is due to the way these various
elements have been brought together. This
subject should not be approached from the
academic, the "arty," the highbrow
point of view. It must be looked at from
the viewpoint of the homeowner, who, having
a landscape problem on his hands and knowing
nothing of the canons of design or the
rules of composition, and caring less,
still wants a pleasing, workable environment
for his home.
The first things to consider
are the selection of the lot and the placing
of the house upon it. More attention should
be given this matter than it usually is
accorded. How many of us have elected to
live in a certain community just because
some friends live there and like it or
because sister Carrie's brother's wife's
mother liked it when she was there one
summer. Having reached this decision, we
have been constrained to buy the less undesirable
of the two remaining available plots. Look
before you leap. Spend plenty of time in hunting,
not only in one or two localities, but in several.
Find the place you want. Then get it; and
don't let anyone dissuade you. garden planning continued...
